The Sailor Moon Eternal Movies are going to be coming to theaters in Japan on September 11, 2020. Most of us know this already but it is nice to have some sort of confirmation. A mock interview was shared with Japanese members of the Official Sailor Moon Fan Club .
The interview isn’t with a real person, instead it is a conversation between Usagi and Luna. They break the fourth wall and talk about the upcoming movies.
First they talk about the movies coming out after the Tokyo Olympics. Then Usagi asks Luna what actually happened in Act 4 of the manga. The movies will cover the Dream arc and this arc includes the Dark Moon Circus, Pegasus, the Amazon Trio, the Amazoness Quartet, Zirconia and Queen Nehelenia.
Usagi ask where the visuals for Sailor Uranus, Neptune and the other Sailor Guardians representing the outer planets are. Luna says that this must mean that Hotaru’s awakening will be in the second film. Following this exchange we get some quotes from Chiaki Kon, the film’s director, Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, the film’s writer, Kazuko Tadano, the animation director, Kotono Mitsuishi, the voice of Sailor Moon and Misato Fukuen, the voice of Chibiusa. Misato Fukuen comments that she will finally get to see “an important character” I am guessing is Pegasus.
The movies will be coming out in September but only in Japan. Right now we have no word on if it will be coming out in other markets. Hopefully they post the movie online or have limited theater runs in other markets.
Until Next Time!
